Mary Beerman , RN, MN, CCRN
I began teaching at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing of Mercer University as an adjunct clinical faculty in 2003 and became a full-time faculty in 2006. I have taught at all levels of the pre-licensure Baccalaureate program in Human Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Adult Health (Medical-Surgical Nursing), and High Acuity Adult Health (Critical Care) courses. I was the driving force in implementing the use of concept mapping across the curriculum. I have served as the chair of the Admissions, Progression, and Readmission Committee since 2008, giving me the opportunity to assess issues related to students' success and failure. I have lead the implementation of programs to enhance the probablity of success of students. This committee work has advanced my understanding of the development of critical thinking in nursing students.
