Deborah Arms , RN, PhD
Dr. Arms graduated from The Ohio State University and has lived in the Columbus area ever since. She has a BSN and MS in nursing and her PhD is in Family Relations and Human Development with a minor in Neuropsychology. Her early career focused on working with children with disabilities both in the hospital and community. For the next 20 years she worked as an administrator both in the hospital and most recently at the State Health Department as the Chief of the Division of Prevention. She was responsible for 8 Bureaus within the health department including the Bureaus of Radiation Protection, Environmental Health, Infectious Diseases, Disaster Preparedness, Public Health Surveillance, The Public Health Lab, Alcohol Testing and the Bureau of Chronic Disease. She managed a budget of over 75 million dollars. She has much experience in public health issues including strategic planning, health policy development, Disaster Preparedness and leadership and management. She currently is an Assistant Professor at Wright State University College of Nursing and the Director of their BSN outreach pre license program in Chillicothe, Ohio.
